My fiancé Gen, 23, and I, 24, live in an up-and-coming neighbourhood just East of downtown Ottawa. I work in the social services field and she is an elementary school teacher in a class for kids on the Autism Spectrum. We are both born and raised in Ottawa and absolutely love the city!

We have had the opportunity to travel to France, Australia, South Africa, Switzerland, Western Canada, Costa Rica and some of the USA between the two of us. Now that we have a place of our own, we want to help other people who are traveling through Ottawa.

We're on Couchsurfing so that we can provide a place to stay to others who like to travel but may not be interested in splurging on accommodations. We love meeting new people and know that we can learn a lot from hosting surfers!

Gen is a foodie at heart and is always whipping up something new and delicious in our kitchen. She loves hiking and riding her bike on the many bike paths close to our place.

I like to read whenever I can as well as go to the gym or play soccer.

Some of our favourite bands include Mumford and Sons, Of Monsters and Men and Charles Bradley. I like to read social justice, biographies and some fiction books. Recent titles include The Martian, In The Realm of Hungry Ghosts and A Crowbar in the Buddhist Garden.

As far as movies, we'll watch almost anything. We have a Netflix account that gets worked pretty hard at times!

One of the greatest experiences we've had while travelling is diving with Great White Sharks just outside Cape Town, South Africa.

We're not planning on being surfers for the moment but here are some of the great things we offer to people that WE host:

-Laundry machines in our apartment that you can use
-Share our fridge
-A nice, freshly made double bed!
-Show you around the museums, farmers' markets, restaurants, nice hiking trails, things to see in our city.

**If you travel to us during the summer (mid/late-June-late August), there is likelihood that Gen will be off work, since she's a teacher, and able to show you around the city or possibly give you a lift.
