About Me

Well what can I say, I'm 24 years old - but good look convincing me of it. I'm from the South of Ireland (this is not England) in a sometimes beautiful, rarely sunny, always wet county called Cork. The real capital of Éire.

There's not much to tell so far. Im a recent Graduate in Marketing. While studying I worked as a sales assistant (which drove me to insanity). After my final exams I was about to plunge with both feet into finding what I call a 'real job' (the ones where you never get out ahhhhh) so long story short - panic, or what you could call reality kicked in and so here I am, planning my first travel around the world.

My only travels worth mentioning so far are mostly confined to Europe. I've visited Spain and Turkey. I've been to Amsterdam in the Winter and Summer. I've skied in Czech Republic and have been dying to go again ever since. I lived in Vancouver for a Summer and have been rooted back here at home ever since.

Devils In the detail: I'm left handed Gemini? I've a cat but I prefer dogs. I'm a night owl. I can go into tremendous tangents (thinking you'll probably picked this up) or I can not say a word for days. I'm incredibly indecisive but spontaneous too. I hate numbers, maths, statistics (you get the picture). I often devour entire TV series within days and show no signs of shame afterwards. If I see a spider you will see me run like a little girl. I once bought a snake without the knowledge that my dad is terrified of them. I've no tattoos but hopefully I'll be forced to edit that one day. I got my tongue pierced when I was piss drunk on a finals holiday, even though I hate needles intimately.

I'm a novice at this surfing couches business, but I think if even one of you opens your door to me it will encourage and help me prepare to return the favour someday, lest we not forget why we're here! So thanks in advance, I'm sure (hope) I'll be seeing more than one or you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While home I'd love the opportunity to loan you a couch! However I'm off on my travels soon and I'll be looking for friendly like minded folk who can offer me any accommodation for any amount of time.

I'm on a tight budget with no plans except the daunting reality that is home awaiting, therefore if you can prolong my journey I will forever be indicted to you! Depending on how far into the journey I am, I can offer a meal at your favourite restaurant if you'd be up for it!

Interests

I'm extremely open minded about a lot (ok maybe not food). I love anything adventurous, such as kayaking or camping. I'm naturally inquisitive about everything from the mundane to the insane so don't be afraid to ask me to do something irregular!

I really enjoy driving, I've recently rediscovered my love of reading. I enjoy going to festivals and exercising (not excessively)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll read any articles that manage to grab my attention, other than that I've always had a fascination with anything relating to; cosmology, psychology, technology, history, etc

In terms of material I haven't actually read many books but it young yet. I'm slowly but surely making my way through the GoT books along with other novels. I've a growing list, however I'm sure I'll get plenty of time to read on my travels so any recommendations along the way will be appreciated!

Music wise, I enjoy a variety of different genres, some of my favourite artists being; Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard, J. Cole, Hozier, alt-j, Kid Cudi, The Weekend, Nirvana.

TV & Films: The list is infinite, I've consumed more TV and film then oxygen. Here's a few we can discuss at length; The Wire, Breaking Bad, GoT, SOA, Narcos, Girls, True Detective, Seinfeld, The Newsroom, The Sopranos, Friends, Peaky Blinders......

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

[I'd really like to have inserted a demonstration of a good deed I conducted but I must not be a very good person because I can't do that.........yet]

Albeit portrayed as common nowadays I skydived in Vancouver which was amazing in my books.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook basic meals, I can teach you how to drive. I can show you how to stay up all night

I'll share anything I can with you, just ask.

I enjoy learning new things no matter how minute or extraordinary

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you want peace and quiet , Im the quietest dude around. If you want to spontaneously go kayaking in some caves, wake me up!

I'm Irish so I can drink you under the table ( this is probably...............and most definitely is a lie) and you can pick my brain about anything!I know a little bit about everything and even a lot of stuff about some things.

I'm very organised and have been told by ALL my mums friends I have tremendous manners! HA! I can be a bit of a clean freak which might actually pay off on this site, so you might find me cleaning stuff when you come home some day.

I can cook.....ok. I'm no Jamie Oliver but I can cook anything of a frying pan more or less ( yep, probably less) Toast? A mean crisp sandwich, homemade chips, a delicious fry and the perfect bowl of cereal.
