Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing because the community has really helped me to connect with people from all over the globe as a host and make some vital connections in the states as a surfer.

I started because I understood it as a great way to travel, but then ended up hosting more than surfing. It's been an authentic way to meet people from all over the world who I wouldn't have met otherwise. Also it aligns pretty well with my politics because it is a giant community of folks who travel with a people-centered philosophy unlike AirBNB which may or may not have any of that.

Interests

I'm interested in environmentalism in the sense that I recognize the urgency or devoting my life to combating the climate crisis and all of its political implications. I am really hoping to connect with people who are interested in this topic and are willing to consider how to build a more carbon-neutral world. If you feel that you are experienced or knowledgeable (heck, even interested) about soil health, carbon sequestration, food justice, or the like, please reach out to me!

I also feel very inspired by this reawakening socialist movement and its push for a more just, equitable, and fair world. I am very hopeful that together we can challenge any power that oppress, marginalize, and abuse the people on this earth and fight for something better!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really only listen to Hip Hop and Drone Metal, but sometimes I like 90's pop country and I don't know why

The most recent things I've watched are Children of Men, Cure (A terrifying thriller directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa), and the third season of Twin Peaks .

I find myself reading mostly politics and farming. if you have something funny to recommend me, I probably could use it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snowboarded the whole way down one of those huge mountains in Banff. It makes me sad to think about because I don't even snowboard anymore!
