Hi, my name is Adam and I’ve been raised in the San Francisco Bay Area of California for all my life. Interesting facts about me are that:

1) both my parents are deaf and I’m fluent in American Sign Language

2) my mom is from Hong Kong and my dad is from Shiraz, Iran!

3) I’ve been involved in scientific research since secondary school! I started at Stanford university in a summer research program on the paleobiology of evolution of body size across terrestrial versus aquatic environments. My next project was during my bachelors at UC Berkeley, where I investigated the photosynthetic efficiency of green algae and the proteins involved in dissipating excess light energy. My most recent projects I’ve been working in San Francisco on the genetics behind neuropsychiatric disorders like Autism and sex differences on the frequency and manifestation of these conditions.

I’m quite new to international traveling, but I’ve been to Japan for a total of 1 month, various places in Canada for 2 months, and now Europe for 3 weeks!

I’m hoping to find likeminded people with cultural observations to share and rad outdoors activities to do together! I’m very happy to go on strolls and hikes from easy to extreme. My favorite hike has been Half Dome at Yosemite National Park, about 27 km and 1500m of elevation gain!
