I am 27 years old from New Zealand. I come from a small rural town in the South Island, where my family were farming.

I have taken roughly a year off work to travel solo, starting in Asia and overland into Europe. Previously, I have travelled with friends, with some of my favourite destinations being Myanmar, Taiwan, Ukraine. I studied finance and economics in New Zealand and I also did a semester abroad in Denmark.

I enjoy all things outdoors. In New Zealand, I surf, play tennis and squash, scuba dive, hike / camp, but I am also keen to get involved in anything.

I am a deeply curious person with a passion for learning about world affairs, which is what brings me to couch surfing.

Unfortunately, my past living conditions have restricted my ability to host. However, when I return from my year abroad I hope to start returning the favour that so many have gifted me.

I love ice cream. If your town has a good ice cream shop, I ask nicely that you take me!

Couch surfing to me is about getting a genuine real-life experience in a new country and going deeper than you can as an ordinary tourist. It’s about connecting with the locals, hearing about what it’s really like to live there, and seeing residents’ lives first-hand.

It’s also a great way to gain valuable perspectives from people outside of your usual circle and make friends from all over the world.
