About Me
Hello all!
I've lived a fairly sheltered life for the most part and have been feeling the need to step out of my comfort zone. I've traveled a bit over the years. I backpacked solo around Central America out of high school for 3 months, visiting as many Mayan ruins as I could. And returned to Chichen Itza in Quintana Roo, Mexico for the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21st 2012. A decision I had made to do when I was there on my first trip.
But aside from that, I have been working, living, eating, sleeping, rinsing and repeating. Always telling my self that I will go on my great adventure once I had worked a certain amount, or achieved a certain goal. But knowing deep down that I was stalling because for some reason I didn't think that I had earned the right to do so. Like I was waiting for some invisible letter to arrive and declare me worthy of this desire.
Well, I guess in a way I handed myself the letter and I've put together a fun plan for myself.
I flew into Lisbon, Portugal at the end of April and have rode my bike to the north coast of Spain. I'm in search of a sailboat to buy that I'll sail up to the British Isles. I'm heading there for a few reasons. Initially because that's where all of my ancestors are from but also because I have made a connection with a man in Ireland that has become my astrology teacher as well as a friend. I'll be staying with him and his wife and helping them renovate a suite in exchange for one on one lessons about the stars and us.
I surfed a couch the first night I was in Lisbon but because I've always been on the move, I havent surfed one since.
I'm hoping that'll change though.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be honest, I value my alone time quite a bit. I'm really looking forward to some solo camping along my journey. I think couchsurfing is a great way for me to break up my solitude and meet open minded people though. I can't think of a better way to meet people in the areas I'm traveling through.
Of course saving some money is very attractive as well. I'm planning on living frugally but will definitely be buying the wine where ever the couch is.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music. Crap top 40 to EDM. I've just been downloading a bunch for this trip and the last artist was David Bowie.
I love adventure movies (duh). But Alien would be my fave if I had to pick one. Before Sunrise too. Havent seen that in a long time though.
I'm such a slow reader, I haven't read too many books. But I really enjoyed a series called A Dream of Eagles which were historical fiction on the Arthurian Legend.
