About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the world, meet people, and have a fun life!

ABOUT ME

Married to my wonderful wife Deborah, a pharmacist. Currently living and working the Middle East, and planning to travel the world in 2013.

Both hippy-ish in our love of the environment - from water recycling to camping, although we both like the occasional creature comforts and city life too!

PHILOSOPHY

If it's worth doing, do it properly and put your best in to it. Leave the world having made it better for everyone, and treat every creature with respect. Except mosquitoes and wasps, who are the devil's children.

In my wife's words, "Leave the world with significantly less food than when you entered it".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I've just signed up, but we'd be happy to host people coming to visit our city - right now we're in Jerusalem, Israel - but soon heading back to the UK, and then onwards around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once stayed with a friend who hosted couch surfers...

Interests

Hiking, cycling, swimming, music, travelling, nature, movies... food... all the usual stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like reading, watching and listening to all sorts of stuff, but if I had to pick favourites, I'd say that my favourite author is Stephen King, my favourite movies are suspense/action ones (think The Next Three Days), and my favourite music is chillout (think Zero7).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Mount Kenya, volunteering in South Africa, serving in the army as a military doctor, camping in sub-zero, watching a pack of lions eat a fresh kill.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm... anyone who wants to learn to grow some home crops on a balcony, this is the place!
