About Me

ABOUT ME

Canadian born. Windsor Ontario, to be exact, which is not "really" Canada, but I'm a naturalized U.S. citizen, but Americans take me as Canadian. So both sides won't have me. Eesh. Grew up in Michigan, went to school at U of M, did the whole biomedical engineering degree thing, and felt like paying it forward, so I have come to do Peace Corps in Ghana. Loved 90% of it, with the other 10% being the worst of my life, but what fun would a roller coaster be if an up didn't have a down?

PHILOSOPHY

Golden Rule.
Leave something better than you found it.
Karma is the angel on your shoulder or the monkey on your back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in Couch Surfing? Not so much yet, but looking to change that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just met couch surfers through my friend Spencer. Seems like such a great idea, just never really filled out a profile so no one requested a visit. But I feel I've got a hold of Kumasi, Ghana if anyone is looking to visit before mid-August. Looking to experience couch surfing first hand

Interests

Love Disc Golf, ultimate frisbee, backpacking, walking in general, some small guitar, watching Colbert Repot, a beer with friends, occasionally writing a journal, pondering hypotheticals that don't make a lick of difference, these things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Beatles. Andrew Bird. Jurassic Park. Dark Knight Rises.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen a buzzard of vultures pick apart a hyena. Lions roaming outside my land cruiser. Hippos take out a crocodile. Crocodile take out a wildebeest. Hiked the tallest mountain and waterfall in Ghana. Eating meals for months at a time with my hands. Made great friendships. Officiated my sisters wedding. Served as a Peace Corps volunteer.

Teach, Learn, Share

How to bucket bathe, fetch water on your head, talk to a random stranger, talk to an audience, sucker for efficiency, how to get where your going without knowing where it is.
