About Me

ABOUT ME

Friendly, open, outgoing and personable. Curious, well travelled, very easy to be around. I'm also very well house-trained and having my own place has also made me most aware of other people's environments, their loved abodes and also their personal space.

I spent 10 years working in international program distribution, raising finance for productions and making international versions for TV broadcasters all over the world. Wanting, no, yearning to get more involved creatively in documentary production - I stumbled across a story in a magazine, that led to a feature documentary that you're welcome to learn more about at www.upinsmoke.tv. The rest is pretty much history and I'm now embarking on another, which will I hope be as impactful as the first

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A way to share experiences, meet new people and engage a little more with the world. People do seem to be high up the list in my lifeblood, so to a degree it seems like the most surprising and pleasant way to travel.

Interests

The sights, sounds and scents of the world. Spend most of my time lost in enjoying those, trying to make a living by recording them for others. Documentary film is my heartfelt passion and it seems very much beginning to be a career.

When I have time, which is not always very often, I also spend time bouldering - climbing without ropes - which is both an amazing way to relax and focus all attention on the task at hand. Not always simple in the day to day.

That aside, I am an avid traveller. I have spent the last four years living and working in Berlin, which is giving even more opportunity to get around in Europe by train, my absolute favourite way to travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Where the Amazon and Rio Negro meet, the blood sunset over the Alhambra one day in May, watching a section of mountain collapse in Bolivia. Elemental.
