About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see America

ABOUT ME

Name's Adam; 23-year-old from Portland, OR. I've dreamed of road tripping the United States for years, and now I'm finally making it happen. Come August, I'll be leaving Portland with two of my roommates to see as much of this country as we can. I'm hoping to meet lots of people and really experience the parts of America that I've never been to.

Lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life, and aside from a week on the East Coast when I was fourteen, I really haven't seen much of my own country.

My buddies and I are always grateful of people willing to help out.

Interests

As for my current mission, I'm deeply interested in seeing the backroads of this country. I can't wait to take a drive through New England and the rural farm towns of the South.

I've always been fascinated by the Civil War, and I hope to see many sites during my trip.

Big fan of craft beer and microbreweries. If you have a favorite local beer, please show me.

I'm hoping to see some historical gay landmarks along the way (Stonewall, Castro, etc.). I would, however, prefer to have a guide.

Also, I must admit that I am a huge geek. You can always spark a conversation with me about movies, music, games, books, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a bachelor's in electronic media and film, but I don't consider myself to be too big of a movie buff. It's just a hobby of mine. Some of my favorite directors are Hitchcock, Kubrick, Boyle, and Scorsese.

I tend to get into music about twenty years or so after it was made. I can't give you too great a reason why this is, but I think I enjoy music more when I can put it in a historical context. I fell in love with hip hop a few years ago and haven't looked back since. I'm also a huge sucker for 90s alternative rock.

I read a lot of non-fiction; mostly stuff on homosexuality and the gay civil rights movement. Aside from that, I've always enjoyed the old political stuff and science fiction as well. My favorite author is Orwell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once lived in a van for two and a half months while working over 80 hours a week on a movie. I also did a fair share of couchsurfing during this time.
