About Me

RECENT UNIVERSITY GRADUATE in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut), looking to share experiences with, and learn from travelers, at home or abroad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To network! That sounds dumb and corporate, but it's a great way to communicate with people who are traveling and exchange experiences and information. To date I haven't stayed for any period of time with a host, but finding people who are traveling or coming to visit my neck of the woods is always exciting for me. Travel can sometimes be intimidating, especially abroad, so it's always nice to know that you can connect with other gregarious travelers before you arrive somewhere.

Interests

Reading, playing music (guitar, and most recently viola), listening to music (live or otherwise), cooking, gardening, biking, listening to the radio, people-watching, movies, going to museums, enjoying mornings (and late nights, duh), story-telling. painting eggs, pot-lucks, walking around, food & drink with company.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh jeez... Honestly, private message me if you want to know what music I like or have been listening to lately. to name a few genres: lots of punk/hardcore, ambient stuff (droney, ambient rock, however it comes), sucker for female leads, indie rock, experimental stuff, americana, cult rock classics, disco, dancey stuff. idk, a lot of stuff...

Books: Hard to say, it changes every month or so. I do enjoy classics, occasional historical nonfiction, but mostly I read whichever fiction catches my eye, not terribly picky. I have a soft spot for the Great American Novel (Faulkner, Emerson, Bellow, Burroughs, etc., etc.) and I have been caught reading hoity-toity essays on critical theory, humanism, and artifiical intelligence on public transit more than once... so yeah, sometimes I read books
