ABOUT ME

Happiness is important to me, its important that I am happy, but I feel that more importantly, people around me should be happy... I currently work full-time as a draftsman, and casually as a bartender at my local RSL pub. I've recently completed a course in guitar building and its something that I'd love to make the move toward doing.
My friends will tell you that I'm always open for anything. Live music is a passion of mine, that I love a good drink, and a solid conversation. Also they'd tell you that they get sick of hearing me talk about guitars - I could speak for hours with a like-minded guitar nut! Haha! :0) Sometimes I play gigs myself, solo acoustic, and harmonica, its very Dylanesque...

I enjoy all sorts of creative endeavours, painting, music, poetry, writing, photography and acting!

I'm a big believer of travel magic, a lot of things that wouldn't happen in what travellers have come to call "the real world" will happen when traveling, co-incidences, meetings, conversations, they all seem enhanced with a simple common state of mind, or - travel magic.

PHILOSOPHY

At the moment, theres a lot of discovering that I'm hoping to do, to open my arms and mind, and grow with it.

I haven't done anything as far as couch surfing goes, I'm still very new to this...

Interests

Music; Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, John Lee Hooker among many others are my favourites. Love the BLUES!
Performing gigs myself and doing live music work for bands around Melbourne.
Sporting events are fun, AFL football, cricket, even some local games can be great
Love going out to dinner at a restaurant (they never beat your cooking though, Mum!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I first landed in Rome; it was the first time that I had ever traveled overseas, and I was doing it alone! I nearly crawled out of the plane after 27 hours in transit, it was hot in Rome - which was a big shock for me coming from Melbourne a day earlier - I had no sleep, and I felt so tired that I felt sick and all I could think about doing was crawling into my hostel bed and sleeping forever... However, when I got to my hostel (after a very ripped-off taxi ride) there was this bar full of travellers from everywhere all drinking together and having a great time... Somehow, I ended up getting drunk on Italian beer with them all and crawling into bed at 3am with 20 new friends! Not the most exciting story for some, but it was a real re-birth for me, and a lot changed in me that night! :0)

When I was in Paris, I walked into a pub when a man was playing solo acoustic guitar. I spoke with him during his break in between sets as he was playing some Bob Dylan and I could really relate to him! His name was Christophe, and he offered me his guitar, he wanted to hear some songs of mine! One of my songs followed a standard blues progression, there were a few musos in the audience that recognised this, and slowly mobilised onstage with me, drums, bass, lead guitarist... in a matter of minutes I had a full band - along with Christophe - all playing my song with me onstage in Paris!!! Amazing... There was even one point where I stepped down into the audience and had a bit of a groove to my own song that all these strangers were playing for me! Magic...
