Hi I am Adelyne. I've been living in Martinique for a year. Before that I had one year travelling; before that i serendipitously became a structural engineer in london and then paris for a few years, but i also did some unidentifiable stuff along the way. Now i want something completely different (i don t want to be an engineer anymore) but don t know what yet, something with random humans :) I need to always have a mid-term project going, which allowed me so far to do some long travelling in between. I prefer not to settle everything and I carry Lucky Chance with me to do the rest. CS is good for that, like hitch-hiking, never knowing what's coming up at home or on the road :) Even a bad experience is always a worthwhile one.
I am often bubbly, and i always love dancing (actually i just cannot help it). Some people would say i am crazy but it doesn't always show. Most times I am easy going because i am not too fussed and i am happy with most activities, although i don t like doing nothing for too long. But i also have those passionate outbursts when i think something is not fair; that makes foreigners laugh, attributing it to my being french and having the cat disease 90% of us have. If i am sad then i am not the best company, so i always look for happiness it is much better that way.
I don t like being cold, i don't like saying no without trying, and i don t like weeing on an ants' nest at night.
I like unexpectedness, spontaneity, cycling to (and out of) work, bright saturday mornings, feisty statements even if wrong, roasted peppers, my friends, my friends to be, accepting being deceived out of politeness, writing, and lots more things.
Finally, i want to learn guitar, surfing, photography, find the job which will satisfy me the next fews years, keep growing better everyday, meet you maybe, and keep this list living.
Enjoy now, Future will come later
(not to apply to biscuits, that is the hardest part of this philosophy)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I travelled sometimes using CS and it was always lucky encounters leading to random happenings. I started hosting when my flat was finally almost finished last summer, but quickly I had to stop as my travel plans occupied me. I hope I'll start again when I get back; it is a fresh way of meeting people. I take part in local events, especially in summertime.
A huge flat in Budapest with an Irish and a Canadian guys, a piece of garden to set my tent in the lake district, plenty of new friends in Paris willing to have fun, and a CS tenant while I am away, so far so good! Since then a lot of surfing in New Zealand :)
All depends on how it is presented. Roughly everything, if that helps?
Music, Movies, and Books
I am definitely not a good conversational match when it comes to movies and music; I know nothing about them, but I can enjoy them, which is enough. Books, I read a lot of them, but only once (not like biscuits).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw a fire ball in the sky once.
I dipped in the baikal lake.
I decided on a one year travelling at the last minute.
I saw ants transporting a cockroach up a vertical wall (and drop it at the end)

Teach, Learn, Share
Apart from sciences I do not really have any skill you can put a word on I am afraid.
I like when people explain their own understanding of something, if that makes sense.
I can share a smile: even if you don t get one in return you will never run out of them.
