Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people as an exchange student, halfway through the year can be hard! I'm looking to meet locals who can show me the wonderful things Cape Town has to offer.

Interests

Learning new skills (and languages), cooking, baking, hiking, yoga, mojitos, Classical languages and mythology, knitting, exploring new places, and anything Italian.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not super picky about my taste in movies, music, and books, and I'm always open to exposing myself to new genres! I listen to a lot of alternative, rock, and folk music. My favorite movies are the kind that you can watch ten times and still find new, interesting details. I've spent the last four years reading lots of ancient literature at university, but I'm excited to be able to read for pleasure now that I'm not currently studying.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Studying abroad in Rome on a classical archaeology program and learning how to analyze the ruins of a Roman city.

Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef was pretty phenomenal.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Happy to help teach English (and maybe a bit of Italian, though I'm far from fluent). I can also teach VERY basic knitting skills, if anyone has needles and wants a crash course in scarves :)
Learn: Open to anything! Always looking to refresh and sharpen my Italian skills. I'd also love to learn how to sew properly.
Share: More than happy to share a meal, make a dessert, and of course, exchange stories.
