Overview
About Me
The goal of my life is to find out the root causes of the meaningless/uneeded sufferings of humanity, and to construct the foundation for a world of sustainable, healthy, and sincere peace.
Throughout my entire adolescence, I’ve been fighting to re-create an ideal cradle of our society. Every year since 2009, I’ve revised my approach to better address the problems of our education system, which includes main projects such as an award-winning documentary ‘If There is a Reason to Study’ that I’ve been making for six years, an intergenerational education union CrE’dule in 2010, a strategic plan for education reformation in 2011, an international online magazine Awakening founded in 2012--which later became a lab for educational/social change experiments, a campaign to ‘Design Your Own Education’ in 2013, translated a book ‘One Size Does Not Fit All: A Student’s Assessment of School’ in 2014, and an ‘Education Bypass Surgery’ in 2015.
In the next ten years, I plan to conduct field studies in the richest and poorest, the ‘most developed’ and the ‘least developed’, even maybe the safest and the most dangerous societies to re-examine our world system as whole. As ivory towers around the world has invested enormous effort in fixing our system but unable to create fundamental change, I believe it is crucial to constantly re-question and investigate the phenomenons we face by getting our hands dirty in the real world, rather than interpreting problems based on the theories/ideologies developed in the past in air-conditioned lecture rooms.
I’m neither talented nor bright, but people often describe me as “sincere and hardworking.” Because what have driven me throughout my life, I discovered, are "compassion", "curiosity", and “responsibility”. Compassion makes me care about the world around me, curiosity drives me to dig into the root cause of problems I observed, and responsibility always confronts me to ask: “What can you do for the world?”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to experience what the world really is, instead of looking from a tourist's perspective, merely glancing over the surface level. Humans are the most interesting thing to study.
