About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To eat at McDonalds in as many countries as possible.

ABOUT ME

I've always grown up with my biggest fear as living an "ordinary" life. Although I haven't lived the most adventurous life, I do believe that so far I've done better than average. When I was 18, I had a friend pick up and leave everything for San Francisco. I thought he was crazy, but at the same time I envied him. I knew I wanted to leave my hometown, not because I hated it, but because I wanted some excitement. I didn't have the same gumption as my friend did however, so I opted to find a job that lets me travel. Although I have many gripes about it, I would have never had the opportunities that I had otherwise. I have loved living overseas, however, I have come to the conclusion that the Unites States is quite large with many different cultures, places to see, and adventure of it's own. The biggest difference... it's much easier to communicate. I happened upon couch surfing through a Facebook advertisement and was instantly intrigued. My wife is not too keen on the idea of actually surfing, but she does enjoy hosting every once and a while.

PHILOSOPHY

Government is inefficient at everything they do.
Everybody is better than you at something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed and hosted several times. I have also met other surfers in passing. Every experience has been a positive one. I usually can only host on the weekends and probably for 3 days maximum, but I guess there is no harm in asking.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I saw this really cool advertisement that grabbed my attention. I've surfed a couple of times with and without my wife, as well as having the opportunity to host in the tiny little town of Knob Noster Missouri and San Angelo TX. We've also had experiences meeting others in passing as well as some unique online interactions.

Interests

I love to travel, experience different cultures, read, cook... Indian food has recently surpassed Chinese as my new favorite. Also, I love to debate. Not the heated arguments that people get upset about, but a good exchange of ideas. I'm sure there is more that I'm not thinking about while I'm on the spot.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love movies that make you think, but come together in the end. the 6th Sense, unbreakable, Inception, momento, Vanilla Sky
Music: I've like different music at different stages of my life. Right now I'm a fan of 90s poprock and alternative.
Books: I'm not a big fan of fiction. As with music, I've liked different types of books at different life stages.
