Hi! I'm a 27yo South African currently studying my MA in Media Arts Cultures in Europe. I like dogs, books, cartoons, comicbooks, digital culture, art, sociology, and playing ukulele.

At the moment I'm traveling with my girlfriend from Peru, Karla, in between studying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me and my girlfriend are both enrolled in a MA program that takes us all over Europe. Not to mention squeezing every opportunity to travel out of our time here, since it's my first time in Europe.

I've only couch-surfed once before and it was a great way to experience a city by getting to know someone who lives there and wants to share his home with travelers. And its always nice to make some new friends from far away.

Besides, I don't mind roughing it a little and sleeping on the floor for a night or two :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've backpacked from Cape Town to Cairo for 7 months when I was 19. That was pretty exciting :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Well firstly, me and Karla are both doing our MAs in Media Arts - so if you are interested in art or digital culture at all we've got really cool things we can show you or talk about.

We are learning to cook a lot, so we are happy to learn and teach how to cook some nice cuisines! Including some specialty Peruvian and South African dishes.

If you want to learn how to play the ukulele, we travel with them and are happy to jam with you.

Also, if you want to learn some stuff about South Africa or South America of course we want to share as much as we can. And Karla is always eager to speak some Spanish again, if you want to practice yours.

We also like to play boardgames if you are into that! Kick it with a good movie at home, or if you want to go out for a beer we are always game :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can cook some nice breakfasts with bacon and eggs and baby tomatoes and all sorts of goodness. We will also bring some Oude cheese from the Netherlands ;)

Besides breakfast we love cooking, and would be happy to make dinner when we are visiting.

We've got a couple of harddrives full of good movies (many great Latin American ones too) if you want to do a old fashioned harddrive raid too.
