I find that Couchsurfing offers the possibility to meet people from all over the world and to show them your culture and country. Same, in the case of me couchsurfning I expect to be shown nice places and parts of their culture and country that I wouldn't get to see as the average tourist.

One of the best things I've done was to go to Australia for half a year of work & travel few years ago. On that journey I found out that I love to travel and get to know people from all over the world and from different cultures and religions.
