I grew up in Catania, the second most important city in Sicily, Italy. I left my hometown when I was 21, mostly to discover what was beyond Italy, this led me to visit more than 35 countries (and keep counting) in 5 different continents. I am extremely open-minded and understanding of a broad range of cultures, religions, and traditions.

Mostly, I prefer to get away by myself, just because I am keen on my movement freedom, but I do not mind sharing my trips with one or two friends or even with strangers.

I am couchsurfing for two reasons, the first is because I think the best way to visit and explore a new place is with the help of a local resident, and the second is of course because it is fun and free.
