About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a French mechanical, robotics and sales engineer. I used to live in different cities in France: Annecy, Lyon, Avignon, Belfort, Versailles and Paris, I've also studied in South Korea, Daejeon, worked a year in London and now I'm living near Zurich :)
I'm specially interested in learning about different cultures and languages, travelling (backpacking) and meeting new people !

SPORTS

I specially like windsurf, volleyball in the summer and I sometimes ski in the winter. I also like going hiking!

PHILOSOPHY

"They didn't know it was impossible, so they did it"
"Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer"
"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm still young but I've travelled a bit around the world, I've seen a few different cultures, and met many great people...
So many people are travelling nowadays. I have noticed some people go to the capital city for three days and then they consider they have "seen the country". There are hundred different ways of travelling. I personally like to spend more time visiting a country, to do it deeper, to travel to the small cities, to talk with the locals, to eat the same as the locals, even if is worms, sannakji or anything else. I'm not afraid of eating spicy or drinking the local water.
I am an adept of the "slow travel": travel less but travel better. Don't see "everything" but just experience living like the locals. Enjoy the place where you are, the people that you meet and sometimes forget to see the 'must-see'.
Couchsurfing helps creating more connections between people, travellers, visitors, anyone.
I find my personal happiness in my way of travelling, not necessarily in my destination.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading. Or better say 'I loved reading'. Today I hardly find time, or I don't take the time to do it. Shame on me... I have probably 30 books on my list (and in a box) just waiting to be opened.

Some of the authors and books I can recommend are Carlos Ruiz Zafon (La sombra del viento), Jostein Gaarder (Kabalmysteriet), Bernard Werber (almost all of his books), or Guillaume Musso (La Fille de papier).
One last great French book is "La foret des 29", wonderful story based in India, written by Irène Frain. This is one of the last books I've read, and definitely one of those I would really recommend.

If you are interested about energy, I also recommend reading the Celestine Prophecy (James Redfield), which gives a basic global overview of how our relationships can be based on energy. This book is just a good first step for you to start thinking about this topic. Personally, I believe energy is everywhere and is shared between everybody all the time. For instance, this leads to conflicts, friendship and love.
If you have any opinion about how you understand energy in the world, I would be super happy to discuss with you!

I also love listening good music. Closing your eyes in the middle of a music festival.
Looking for good vibes in general. I believe optimism and positivity can change everything in your life, if you want to. Smiling is contagious! And life is good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When you go out of your comfort zone, every day turns into an adventure. I LOVE to go out of my comfort zone, and I try to do it everyday if possible.

- Moving to Korea without knowing a word, speaking with the hands, and trying to learn Korean.
- Learning to like kimtchi.
- Living in 12 different places in the last 10 years. Or maybe more, I've lost count.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe all relationships are controlled by energy exchanges. Giving things, time, love, smiles, pretty much anything to somebody else is the only way to make you both feel good and happy :)

This is just a tiny part of my theory of life. And it still needs to be improved a lot. If you have any opinion about that, I would love to hear it :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very positive in general. I try to be optimistic. Only good things happen when you have good vibes.
I can share my time, tell my stories, listen to yours.
I believe that every new person you meet, helps you walking towards in your life.
