Overview
About Me
I recently graduated with my B.S. in psychology at North Dakota State University.
I plan to continue schooling at University of Missouri to obtain a PhD in developmental psychology. My interest in schooling is to become a professor with my own line of research where I can study adolescents, their relationships, and how these affect their development (positively and negatively).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have traveled in the past and love learning about new places and people. I believe that having an open-mind and a free spirit allows me to become a better person and learn how I can help to make the world a better place. We all have a footprint, so let's make it a good one.
Interests
When I am not working on research or something related to my schooling, I might be riding my bike. There are a few good paths in Fargo, ND where I can feel close with nature. I also enjoy camping and hiking in the mountains - I often take trips to places in the U.S. where I can do this. I also really love to write. I spend a lot of time writing poetry, journal entries, and short stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy movies. This includes Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Star Trek among many others. Some of my top favorite music includes indie rock, alternative, and some forms of metal. However, I love most music and enjoy listening to something new. I read a lot of informational books related to psychology. In addition, I read a lot of Haruki Murakami novels and other various existential novels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can easily make this about my education, but instead, I want to say that I have successfully watched all seven Star Wars movies consecutively over one weekend. There was no real reason to do so, but I certainly enjoyed it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot of things related to psychology. In fact, I especially know a lot about adolescents' peer relationships, the development over the entire lifespan, aggression, neural functions, the neural processing of vision and hearing, and a few statistical measures used in research. These may not seem applicable to traveling, however, knowing about human interactions and functions helps to understand different cultures. I know what functions are universal and what are specific to different cultures and societies. This can help me know how to travel safely.
