ABOUT ME

We are Jen and Lewis Smith, a married couple from the UK who have been on the road since Sept 2012. We travel in search of exploration, adventure and new experiences and we love to find out the local perspectives on the places we visit.

We never go anywhere without our mascot, the handsome, charming and well-travelled plastic dinosaur head, Eric T. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the moment we don't have a couch to offer (having no home), but we'd love to treat our hosts to dinner and generally repay their kindness as much as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We're virgin surfers at the moment, but everyone we've met who's been a part of couch surfing has said great things. We can't wait to start!

Interests

We love live music (indie, pop, blues, soul etc), cafe culture, food, photography, art and architecture, finding out where the locals go and meeting new people. We enjoy sociable drinking, especially when there's a new tipple or custom to try, but we're respectful towards non-drinkers and certainly don't need booze to have a good time!

Music, Movies, and Books

We love music and live music. We have pretty broad tastes, but generally guitar and electronic music are our preference. We particularly love live music, and we'd particularly love to meet hosts who could take us to gigs.

Dislike manufactured pop, x-factor, etc.

Movies wise, some of our favourites are the Chris Nolan Batman's, Garden State, Up & Bourne Supremacy. We like the idea of thought provoking movies, but have often settled for easier watches after a long day at work.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We were lucky enough to be a part of the 10,000 lantern release during Yi Peng in Chiang Mai, Thailand - the atmosphere was soulful and reverent and the sight of thousands of lanterns floating up and forming into a spectacular drifting galaxy will stay with us for a very long time. Just beautiful.
