About Me

Experience a world of wonders

I have visited the following countries as of December 2011
I'm a traveller by lifestyle, I seek new cultures, foods, people and experiences. I left home in March 2009 and have been on the road for three years. I've taken three big trips since then and lived in Canada in between.After leaving Australia, I started my overland travels in South East Asia, visiting the following countries:Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China, (Tibet), Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, (Nagorno-Karabakh), Georgia, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Germany, USA and Canada.After arriving in Canada, I thought it was a magical place, stayed, made friends, hosted a lot of people and explored the country.In December 2010, I started my second big journey, the great North American road trip. I purchased a car with a friend in Vancouver and we drove it for two months in USA, four months in Mexico and then a few weeks in Belize, Guatemala and Honduras.I've had the pleasure of traveling with my family. After almost three years not seeing my mum, I flew to Germany where we started to travel Europe together. After she left, I continued solo, visiting the following countries:Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Transnistria and Ukraine.I have a travel blog where I write about my adventures, including how I was pickpocketed in Cambodia, snuck into Tibet, was almost setup drug smuggling heroin, tried to cross a war zone in the Caucasus and celebrated Christmas in Bethlehem.I'm a traveller, an explorer, an adventurer, a photographer and a lover of art and music.I've met plenty of amazing people in my travels and hope that I am one of the amazing people you meet.

The most fun happens when you make it up as you go, don't pre plan your life and take all challenges in stride. It's all good.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted several hundred people over five countries. I've also organised CS events for local surfers and travelers.

I've attended plenty of CS trips and meetups.
When traveling, I love meeting couch surfers and seeing their points of view, their cultures and their lives.

* Couchsurfed with a family of Chess champions in Kyrgyzstan
* One host turned his house into a CS house, even if he's not home, he tells the neighbours to let them in, lends them his car and leaves them food and maps of places to explore.
* I have couchsurfed all over the world, a last minute host picked me up ten minutes after I messaged
* Couchsurfing dinner parties for sixty people
* Couchsurfing meets
