About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn everything, see everything, meet anyone, eat anything.

ABOUT ME

I am a young woman who is looking for a place to stay. I would like to visit Amsterdam the week before Easter. I am currently living in Frankfurt working as an Au Pair and studying German. I plan to travel around Europe as much as possible while I am here. I grew up in Maine and recently I have lived in New Orleans. Ben Poland's comment about the cop is not true.

PHILOSOPHY

I haven't had much time to develop my personal philosophy but at this point in my life I find great joy in listening to the people around me and learning from them. I like to listen to old people tell stories about their experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan to travel around Europe a lot in the coming months, so contact me if you're looking for a travel buddy for a short trip or if you want someone to meet with in Frankfurt

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never CouchSurfed before, but I have stayed w/ host families in Europe while studying. I take pride in being the neatest, most courteous houseguest I can be.

Interests

I am an avid student of history. I am interested in politics but I am not a partisan. In my free time I like to read, cook, visit antique shops and museums, and sample the local wines.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene, The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the Harry Potter series, and Lord of the Rings trilogy. I also like to read plays and poetry.
For non-fiction I like to read about social theory, politics and feminism. I read the news frequently, esp. The New York Times, The Economist, and Der Spiegel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For three months last year I lived in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. It was AMAZING to see the resilliance of the people who returned to rebuild their city after Hurricane Katrina. They faced so many obstacles, even from their own government, but they remained dedicated to their community.

Teach, Learn, Share

What could I teach someone I meet through CouchSurfing? I consider it presumptuous to assume that I know more than someone about anything...but I could probably teach you how to make some really good guacamole.
