I am a master's student in Society and Culture programme at IIT Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. I have completed my undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Delhi. Currently, I am in CEIAS-EHESS, Paris, France as a part of a research fellowship program provided by the French Institute in India and the Embassy of France. I used to travel a lot in India during my undergraduate days. But this is the first time I am outside of India. So excited to be here!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

As I have said, I am in Paris, France right now. This is my first time ever outside India. So I was thinking of making it the most, as an unforgettable experience in my life. As I am a student of society and culture, I was always curious about other cultures and societies- in terms of how they spend their everyday life, how our perspectives and theirs vary and all. Even this our/their binary itself was a point of the doubt for me. I hope Couchsurfing provides us with the best opportunity to engage and interact with people, which I hope blurs this our/their binary.

There are a lot. It also changes accordingly. Favourite is always difficult to define. But I like Turkish and Eastern Cinema more. My favourite directors are ceylan, hong sang soo, hsiao hsien, Robert Bresson etc. My favourite writers are Orhan Pamuk and Dostoevsky.

This academic journey right now is, what I feel, the most amazing thing I am doing. As I come from a rural village in Kerala, to be in one of the greatest cities of the world itself feels like an amazing journey.
