About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To say 'yes' to more things than 'no.'
ABOUT ME
I'm very outgoing, easy going, and energetic. My friends have told me I'm the one they call when they have a spontaneous idea for an outing or a party because I rarely say no to a fun time. I lived in Ghana for a semester and fell in love with the country. I plan on joining the Peace Corps to advocate for people with special needs. I am currently living in Pittsburgh and work with kids with physical and mental disabilities. I love, love, love this city and explore it as often as I can. I also love showing visitors around because there is something for everyone here.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy revolves around surrounding myself with positive, open minded people and experiencing as much as possible. I also feel that the best way to experience a new place is to do what the townies would do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by attending events and meeting couch surfers. I have yet to personally host or surf yet but I hopefully will soon.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I lived in a shared house with a girl who was a couch surfer. This is how I learned about it. She hosted a few people while I lived there and I would always hang out with her guests. We always had a great time. My friend in college always hosted and I hung out with his guests a lot as well. I have never had a bad experience with a couch surfer and think it's a fantastic community.
Interests
I love camping, traveling, biking, football, soccer, cooking, making ice cream, and hanging out with friends. I love throwing and attending parties of all sizes, especially if there is a good theme involved. I usually attend weekly Pittsburgh events such as karaoke at Del's in Bloomfield, Banjo Night at the Elk's Lodge in the North Side, and Bacon Night at Harris Grill in Shadyside to name a few. I love good food and good beer and good people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can be picky about the music I listen to or the movies I watch on my own time but I will never pass up an opportunity to dance or sing to awesomely bad music or watch awesomely bad movies with friends. As far as music goes I love Iron and Wine, Arcade Fire, Tallest Man on Earth, The Shins, Sigur Ros, Jonsi, Girl Talk, M83, Sufjan Stevens, Mumford and Sons, etc. I don't think I will ever stop loving Dave Matthews Band, Blink 182, and Spice Girls. With movies I love Wes Anderson, Spike Jones, Michel Gondry, Christopher Guest, Quentin Tarantino, Tommy Wiseau, etc. I love B-movies documentaries, and horror movies too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was on a teeny tiny 8 passenger plane from Lanai to Honolulu, Hawaii and I could see whales in the ocean below. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
I was also in Togo and had to bargain for a t-shirt in french while trying to convert Cedis into Cefas as a man chopped a goat head next to me with a machete. It was bonkers. On the same day I also bargained with a statue in french at a voodoo market with the help of the priest who was wearing an Eminem shirt.
Teach, Learn, Share
My ice cream machine is my most used appliance hands down. I would love to teach people about what I've learned from experimenting with it. I also love showing people around Pittsburgh and all its little nooks and crannies.
