About Me

Hey, I’m Aflah Ameen—but most people who really know me call me Faalu. I’m 22, born and raised in the southern coast of India, in a place called Kerala.

For the past five years, I’ve been solo traveling—not always full-time, but always soul-deep. This year, I’m finally stepping into a full-time journey across Asia, starting with nothing but trust in creator, the kindness of people, and the skills I can offer in return. No money—just bartering, volunteering, and sharing what I know with those I meet.

I don’t travel to tick off places. I travel to learn, to grow, and to connect. For me, travel is about seeking wisdom, not just adventure. I believe real peace and happiness come when we strive for justice, understanding, and meaningful exchange—across borders and hearts.

I see every journey as a form of learning . Every stranger is a possible friend. And every home that opens its door is a chance to learn something I couldn’t find in a book.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because I want more than a place to sleep—I want real human connection. Traveling with zero budget, I rely on the kindness of hosts and in return I share what I have: honest stories from the road, help around the house, simple story night or a photo slideshow of your neighborhood. Your home becomes my classroom, and each conversation teaches me something I can’t learn from a guidebook.

Let’s help each other—your hospitality fuels my journey, and my presence brings company, conversation, and whatever small service I can offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m slowly returning to books—trying to shift from screens to pages, and my journey is helping me do that. Wherever I go, I carry a few books as reminders to begin again. If I’m writing this now, it means I’ve started reading again, even if just a little.

Movies? I’ve watched plenty—but a few that left a mark are The Pursuit of Happyness, Into the Wild, 127 Hours, Nomadland, The Shawshank Redemption, The Life of Pi, Karate Kid, and the Harry Potter series.

Music? I don’t have an all-time favorite—it depends on the season of life I’m in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left my honors degree program in year one to chase purpose over convention—a single decision that ignited my journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don’t come with perfected skills or titles—but I come with an open heart and a deep willingness to learn. I carry a growing wishlist: martial arts, pottery, sustainable living, survival skills, languages, and more. If you’re open to sharing, I’m ready to absorb.

As for teaching—maybe not in a formal sense—but I’d love to share what life, travel, and faith have taught me. Stories, simple perspectives, meaningful conversations, and anything that could be of use. Sometimes, just listening and being present is the most valuable thing we can offer.

Let’s exchange more than just skills—let’s share moments that matter.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I may not carry money or luxury gifts—but I travel with an open heart, good intentions, and a deep respect for the homes I enter.

Here’s what I can share with you:
• Stories from the road—honest, sometimes funny, sometimes raw reflections from a traveler chasing meaning.
• Quiet companionship—I know when to talk, when to listen, and when to give space.
• Help around the house—cleaning, cooking simple meals, organizing, or running errands if you need.
• Cultural exchange—if you’re curious, I’d be happy to share about Islam, Kerala, the local languages I speak, or the way I see the world.
• Skill-sharing—I can help with content creation, storytelling, journaling, or even just being a thoughtful sounding board for your ideas.

Most importantly, I try to leave a place better than I found it—even if it’s just by offering sincerity and gratitude.
