About Me

CURRENT MISSION
After quitting my job in Poland (which I did for far too long) I am in the quest for the unknown:) It's been six years now since I left my country with the intention to travel/volunteer/work elsewhere.
I have been travelling for years. The last 2 years I spent in teh Canary Islands and would like to go back there for the winter.
In general the plan is open:)

ABOUT ME

I feel and look younger than I really am. No question about it:)
Curious, open-minded, sensitive, a bit artistic but sensible soul, interested in various things: travelling, arts&crafts, interior decorating, doing sports (skiing, rollerblading, cycling, gym),music & concerts (a vast majority of),parapsychology, wellness.
Easy-going.
Don't like to regret things so try to take any opportunity in life.

PHILOSOPHY

1. It doesn't matter where you are but who you are with.

2.If someone makes you miserable more than they make you happy, it doesn't matter how much you love them, you need to let them go!

3. Everything happens for the reason and the people we meet on our way always come on purpose.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I both host and surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I registered in January 2012 and I have already met a lot of great people. I've been couchsurfing in New Zealand, the USA, Portugal, Italy and Poland and I also hosted and assisted a bit. I like the idea of meeting new people and showing them places they would probably never get to on their own.

Interests

What do you like to do in your free time?
I do some online work developing a natural products marketplace, I write my own blog, I also like watching films, doing sports, going to the cinema/theatre/concerts, music, festivals, arts&crafts, travelling.
I'm keen on Slow City/ Slow Food movements.
I love making things with DECOUPAGE technique. It's very relaxing and comforting:)

I report my travels at: www.legrandbleu.geoblog.pl

Music, Movies, and Books

Ambient, chill-out, alternative&Indie rock, jazz. Basically, I like different varieties of music, I just have to hear it first and either I like it or not.
My recent "can't get you out of my head" are : The Jezabels, Youth Lagoon, Bokka, Tycho....
I love live concerts. I think only live concert can verify a real talent of an artist.
The best concerts so far:Nouvelle Vague,Rotunda Club, Krakow 2009; Pearl Jam, Massive Attack and Empire of the Sun in Open'er Music Festival, July 2010; Arcade Fire, Warsaw 2011.
Frequently listen to All Chilled@181.FM and discover new sounds on Spotify.

Books...So many of them I can't remember.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* Travelling from Italy to Poland for 4 days in a lorry!:)
* Having my first tattoo made, in Austria, on 24th March 2015:)
*I quit my job after 17 years and decided to rearrange my life by starting to workaway in Portugal for 2.5 months...
*I arranged my flat myself-it still needs some improvement but I'm proud of it ( architects and interior designers were a rip-off:)
*Seeing ...nothing from the tallest building in the world due to a sand storm:)
*Speedtravelling for a month in 2012 and visiting 6 countries altogether.
*Going to the USA at the age of 18, alone!
*Climbing down the crater of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy or visiting Mount St. Michel in the north of France, at night.
*Seeing 12 Apostles, Australia at dawn is absolutely stunning and Southern Island, New Zealand -just breathtaking.
I realise these are nothing comparing to other people's achievements....

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you 'decoupage' (in my flat you'll see a few examples of it made by myself)and share my general knowledge about people and places.
I can explain English grammar;)
I want to learn new things, any things:)
I'd like to learn to cook your favourite dish and so can I teach you:)
Basically, I think every day we learn something new, even by the means of a simple conversation. That's why I appreciate a company of a knowledgeable, clever and curious interlocutor.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel stories.
Vegetarian cooking.
Knowledge.
Good sense of humour:)
