ABOUT ME

I like sitting around a kitchen table chattering away about what happened today. I like listening to others take apart all the pieces of the world and put them back together again. I like learning new skills of how to make, break and fix. I like the long sagas of your romantic entanglements. I like sitting in the corner with my book, I get sucked in by books, newspapers, magazines, articles, screens. I like reading aloud things I find interesting. I do have a tendency towards unsolicited advice.

I like cups of tea and sunny days and short shorts and jeggings. I like holding the blanket up to my chin and snuggling down under it. I like cooking food for everyone to eat & making sure everyone is safe and sound and well looked after. I like making videos with my friends. I like new adventures and old friends, old adventures and new friends.

I'm really into embroidery at the moment. I just might be good at it.

Sometimes I am a little bit shy and sometimes I talk non stop and at great speed and in great detail. Sometimes I change my hair a lot.

I think we will get along just fine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In general I live with a pretty open door policy. My houses have hosted lots of amazing people from all over the place and (most importantly) I have eaten lots of food cooked by people from all over the place. I've stayed with lots of fantastic people and made lots of incredible connections and friendships that will last me for many years.

Books that I haven't read, books that I have read, sleeping under the stars, films, taking pictures, my camera, making plans, complicated ideas, music, dancing, activism, anti-oppression movements, feminism, witches against capitalism, the end of neo-liberalism, romance, telling long stories, attempts to make the world better, talking, thinking about food, working hard, pop culture, filling up my water bottle with cordial invitations.

I want to learn more practical skills like how to build things, how to use power tools. I want to learn about wiring and plumbing and nails and cement and how it all works. I want to learn more art skills, like better screen printing and lino- and woodcut techniques and drawing techniques. I want to learn everything you know!

I can teach you about a few complicated card games that require specific numbers of players, about the importance of communicating illustrated by the mistakes I have made, about the wonders of garlic, about books I like and places I like going. I can educate you on all my favourite foods. I can tell you things about hitching in Europe. I can tell you how to live for free in Melbourne. I can tell you about the magic of northern New South Wales. I can discuss the complexities of romance and non-monogamous relationships, about film projects I'm working on, about indecisiveness. I can give you relationship advice you might not follow. I can teach you about loving yourself.
