About Me
CURRENT MISSION
learning by doing. then failing. then doing it better the next time.
ABOUT ME
I moved here to Madison in 2010, and am still getting a feel for the town, with the help of my partner in crime, Andrew. I spend most of my time in my sculpture studio and have another part-time job at a little pet food store for dogs and cats.
I'm a huge advocate of musik, and kickin' it in the woods or around fires whenever time allows. We have a huge backyard and an awesome stone oven thing for fire-making at our leisure. We also have a dog, Zeuss, who loves to play frisbee and is a ham at the dog park, so we like to take him out for a run whenever possible.
Everything cool in Madison is bike-able from our place. We each have a bike and one extra if you'd fancy a bike tour or to stroll through the many various trails all over and through this town.
PHILOSOPHY
It is all what you make of it. ...mine as well be fun ....
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This community of folks are real, positive & respectful. I want to keep that good exchange alive, be an available listener, stay curious, keep moving . An army cot is just folds away, and many nights has it hosted visitors who've reported a good night sleep ! Whether or not they really meant it, i'll never know, but it suits the weary and open minded real nice.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Grand show of care and humanism I found in Norway -from last minute call outs to returning visits. Everyone taught me great examples of hospitality. I am eager to indulge the next person with such good experiences, and keep the fire of good times alive through the randomness of Couch surfing.
Interests
visual world. audio world. - and those two working together. Cast iron pots and pans. Deep boreal woodlands. Wearing colors ranging between rust and cold bodies of water. Contrasts and spontaneous intervention, abrupt beginnings and natural endings, travel (of course), clean rivers, empty fields, meaningful coincidences, stretches in morning, musik in the evening, horses, languages (functional silence, native dialects, body language, musical conversations, ect.), coffee, stories, real adventures, make believe.
I am NOT interested in sincerely learning to cook well. It's been pointed out recently that I may have little patience for food-making techniques. Ha HA,... I like to trade cooking for cleaning duties : p

Music, Movies, and Books
Films: Stop-motion animations ( Brothers Quay, Jan Svankmeyer, Nervous Films ..). Independent film projekts, old dramas, clever comedy, biographies.
MusiK: anything happening in a local underground scene is generally interesting. Heavy metal to classical to jazz to country. I like them at different levels- Some bands that remain foundational comfort listening include : (Primus, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, NOFX, R.E.M, Radiohead, Counting Crows, Cranberries, Fugazi, The Books, Roy Orbison, Thee Silver Mt. Zion, Uncle Tupelo, Blond Redhead, --oh goodness this is impossible to choose..... really ) Books : ---I'm a weak reader- but books on tape are sort of fun.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Home Brew parties. Carving Huge (fake) Cyprus trees from toxic, non-biodegradable foam (my old job), Remarkable beauty arising from ultimate vulnerability. ( growing plants from seeds, finding a positive end to a tragic past, making interesting things from trash and other disregarded materials... ) A pumpkin-sized puff-ball mushroom! Turkeys flying. Bear meat in Pad Tai. yum !
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm quite connected to my local underground. Current regional events are active in my plans. Art makers/ storytellers/ organic co-op's/ public library / musik shows- these are the organizations that i can share with the traveling soul looking to participate in the Madison/Milwaukee scene.
