Overview
About Me
I'm an open-minded person who loves meeting new people and experiencing life! Since graduating in Nutrition, I worked for two years to start a garden and food education program at a school in New Orleans, and am now working as a nutrition counselor for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Women Infants and Children. My professional life has allowed me to work and connect with various communities, which has been very important to me. Working towards social justice is something I am passionate about, and learning about social issues on the local and global scale is what gives me drive. Right now I'm trying to figure out what my place is in this work long term.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures. Couchsurfing has been an amazing way to connect with like-minded people both near and far! I've enjoyed hosting people in New Orleans on my own and with the co-op I lived in.
Interests
I love everything about food- cooking, gardening, and the way it serves as a window to other cultures and brings people together.
I love to dance, both in formal class environments and while out in the world! And especially to live music.
Some other interests include: yoga, reading, traveling, art, costuming, sewing, nature, animals, the environment, politics, sociology...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Many amazing things (to me anyway)!
Seeing the Galapagos Islands was breathtaking, and being able to see and interact with so many beautiful animals up close was definitely amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love cooking meals for people and know a lot about food and nutrition (though one thing I love about food is everyone has something to share!). I am more than happy to teach/share whatever opportunity comes up when we cross paths.
I truly believe that we can learn something from every person we encounter- and I'd like to learn whatever that is from you!
