Hi everybody, it is me Ahmed, 37 years old, a Tunisian/German citizen. I grow up in Tunisia and left my homeland when I was 22 years old in 2010. Since then I’ve lived in France, Spain and Germany, in different cities and villages.
I did travel in quite a few countries also, mostly in Europe and in Central America.
While travelling I like to get in touch with locals, try to learn their languages, get to know about their culture and everyday life, rather than visiting all sights and cities. Also I prefer a deep conversation and good food over partying.
I quit my job in February 2025 for family reasons, now it is time to travel, my main destination is New Caledonia (or how locals call it “Kanaky”). It has been my dream for many years.
After that I want to visit New Zealand and Australia, then I’ll decide what to do next,it depends mostly on budget.
To make this journey more interesting and get to know locals, I’m trying to get some volunteering jobs, and meet couchsurfers to hangout with, join events and activities.
I’m also taking some online classes when I have time, I guess it will be when I am going to stay somewhere for longer.
I’m hoping to enjoy my journey, meet awesome people and have nice experiences, and be a better version of me at the end of it (I hope it is going to take forever 😉)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

We love to discover other cultures and languages by meeting people from all over the world (also for that reason we both worked in hostels). The couches we surfed together have brought us to the most interesting and inspiring people and the surfers we hosted (when we had a free room for a few days) in Frankfurt are now amongst our best friends. So until now we only had great experiences with Couchsurfing and it has influenced our lives in a positive way.

兴趣

Ahmed is crazy about sports, he loves playing and watching football (soccer), although most of his life he's been playing handball. Also he is a bike person.
We both love traveling (of course) and learning new languages (in our opinion the key to really getting to know a country and its people), as well as cooking (we are always interested in trying and learning new recipes from all over the world). Apart from that, we are interested in ways of natural and sustainable living and Julia is really into healthy food and yoga. As we lived one year in Granada, we have a strong bond to everything that has to do with Spain and especially Andalucía, when we hear someone speaking Spanish in the streets of Frankfurt it puts a big smile on our faces ;)
