About Me
Hello there! My name is Ahsan AL Hisham. I am an enthusiastic traveller, and I have a passion for getting to know people from all over the world. My mission is to visit every country in the world at least once, and I believe that through travel, we can form deep connections with the people and places we visit.
I practice my religion and I firmly believe that it should not be a barrier to making friends and forming meaningful relationships with people of different beliefs. In fact, I see my faith as a way to connect with the people I meet and to better understand their cultures and traditions.
As a YouTuber, I have documented my travels and shared my experiences with my followers. My channel, "A Bangladeshi Traveller - Ahsan AL Hisham," is a testament to my passion for travel and my desire to share my adventures with the world.
When I travel, I love to stay with locals and immerse myself in the local culture. I am an active member of the Couchsurfing community in Dhaka, and I believe that Couchsurfing is a fantastic way to meet new people and experience a country from a different perspective.
I would be delighted to have the opportunity to visit your country and to get to know you and your culture. If you're interested in hosting me, please feel free to reach out.
Let's create unforgettable memories together!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm so glad that I am answering, "Why I'm interested in Couchsurfing?". As someone who loves to travel and meet new people, Couchsurfing is the perfect platform for me to do both.
First and foremost, I'm really interested in meeting locals in every place I visit. I think it's the best way to experience a city or town like a true local, and to get a real sense of what life is like in that area. I find that when I stay in hotels or hostels, I don't get the same kind of connection with the people and the place. But Couchsurfing allows me to make those connections and get a much deeper understanding of the culture and lifestyle of the area I'm visiting.
Of course, as a budget traveler, saving money is always a concern. But that's really just a secondary consideration for me. What's most important is the opportunity to connect with new people and to learn about their way of life.
I also believe that Couchsurfing is a great way to break down cultural barriers and stereotypes. By staying with locals, I'm able to get a much more nuanced understanding of their culture, and to see them as individuals rather than just representatives of a particular country or culture. This, to me, is incredibly valuable, and something that I believe we can all benefit from.
Overall, my reasons for Couchsurfing are really quite simple - I want to connect with locals, learn about different cultures, and have the opportunity to see the world through a different lens. I hope that by staying with locals and sharing my own experiences, I can help to break down barriers and create a more interconnected and understanding world.
Interests
Let me tell you a little bit about my interests.
First and foremost, I absolutely adore nature. There is nothing quite like being surrounded by the beauty of the natural world. Whenever I travel, I make a point of exploring the local landscapes and immersing myself in the stunning scenery of the area.
Equally important to me is getting to know the local people. I love learning about different cultures, traditions, and ways of life. I find that the best way to do this is by engaging with the locals and hearing their stories.
I also have a great love for reading, but when I'm on the go, audiobooks are my preferred choice. I love getting lost in a great story while I'm travelling to new and exciting places.
As a YouTuber, I have a strong interest in cinematography and photography. I enjoy capturing the beauty of the world through my camera lens, and sharing my experiences with my followers.
Although I have some dietary restrictions due to religious reasons, I still have an interest in the local foods of each region. More than food, however, I am especially drawn to the mountains, seas, and other breathtaking natural wonders.
Another aspect of local culture that fascinates me is the way that each region celebrates marriage. I find it endlessly interesting to learn about the unique customs and traditions surrounding marriage in different cultures.
Finally, I have a deep interest in education. I love learning about the schools and universities in each region, and exploring the different approaches to education in different parts of the world.
I hope that gives you a good sense of my interests. If you share any of these passions, or if you just love meeting new people and exploring new places, then we'll have plenty to talk about when we meet!

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I find relaxation in soothing melodies and traditional tunes. I enjoy listening to Indian music, particularly songs like "Tere Sang Yaara" that evoke emotions and memories. I also love exploring the local traditional music of the places I visit, as it gives me insight into their culture and way of life.
In terms of books, I have a diverse taste. I enjoy reading travel books that inspire me to visit new places and learn about their histories and cultures. One of my all-time favorites is "Rihlah" by Ibn Battuta, which I've read in Bengali multiple times since childhood. It has been a major inspiration for me to explore different parts of the world. I'm also interested in political and historical books that offer new perspectives and insights.
When it comes to movies, I enjoy a mix of genres. I love watching Turkish movies, as they often provide a glimpse into a unique and fascinating culture. I'm also a fan of Marvel movies and James Bond-like series, as they offer thrilling adventures that keep me on the edge of my seat. Overall, I find music, books, and movies to be a great way to unwind and learn about the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I've done is hitchhiking from Dhaka to Sylhet. This experience helped me overcome my fears of traveling alone and taught me that it is possible to explore the world on a budget. I used to be afraid of many things, like someone stealing my belongings or worse. But through hitchhiking, I proved to myself that I can travel and that it doesn't have to be expensive. This was a turning point in my life and I'm grateful for this experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and opened up a world of possibilities.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always excited to learn new things and share my knowledge with others.
As a YouTuber, I have a lot of experience with video editing and various YouTube tips, and I'm happy to pass on what I've learned to anyone who's interested. But I'm also very curious to hear about your experiences - have you ever hosted someone before or stayed with a host? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any insights you gained from them.
When it comes to travelling to new places, I'm always eager to learn as much as I can about the local customs, culture, and lifestyle. So if you have any tips or advice on how to explore your country in the best possible way, I'm all ears. I'd love to know which places in your country are the most beautiful, and which ones are less well-known but still worth a visit.
In turn, I can share with you all of the wonderful places in Bangladesh that may not be well-known to outsiders. There are so many hidden gems in this country that are often overlooked by tourists, but which are truly stunning and well worth a visit. I'd be more than happy to take you on a tour and show you some of my favorite spots.
So let's share our experiences and learn from one another. Together, we can make our travels more rewarding and enriching than ever before!
