About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Gain perspective into different ways of seeing the world

ABOUT ME

Currently I'm serving with the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic, teaching in the small community of Batey Monte Cristi. I hope someday to go back to school and get my PhD, probably in history, but maybe philosophy or Spanish. I like the idea of devoting myself to a cause for civil rights, and hope to make a lot of connections in the Peace Corps and in my travels!

PHILOSOPHY

Live every day to the fullest. Never stop learning; never stop pushing to new heights.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to host in the future, but right now my situation doesn't really allow for it. I hope I can meet a lot of really interesting and cool people through couch surfing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a great first experience surfing. Hope to do it again soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raced in a bus in the Peruvian Andes at dawn through a sea of llama and alpaca. Spent a day walking around MLK Jr's old neighborhood in Atlanta. At Machu Picchu I got so sick I needed to get an IV, but I had no money so the doctor charged me nothing. Waking up every morning in Quito, walking out to catch a bus and seeing the drastic towering peaks of the Andes never lost its wonder. White water rafting and cliff jumping in the jungles of Ecuador. Backpacking through Europe. And now Peace Corps DR

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach bike maintenance, world history and would love to help people with English! I really want to learn French or any other language for that matter.
