About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We are all in this together!
ABOUT ME
Coming from a working class and queer background I have a strong drive towards respect, understanding, levity and realness. My friends would tell you that I am the guest who will do your dishes in thanks, engage in company but also take personal time, will gladly help a dance party get started and happily make real connections with people. It can be difficult to let others do things for me but I also believe we are all works in progress and to be gentle with one's self allows for growth.
PHILOSOPHY
I live to grow, experience, give. Life is an adventure and personal power is real-I work to be gentle with myself for my flaws and others theirs. Hidden gems are everywhere and often times the lack of looking is what keeps them hidden.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Host and surf.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had fantastic experiences couch surfing and hosting in this world. In Dublin I was welcomed along with a gaggle of friends into someones home I had not yet met in person. They showed us around, put us up, had some booty shakin' fun with us and she and I had wonderful conversation. Amsterdam I had a lovely person host me. In the states many folk I have known peripherally have welcomed me in similar ways and thus I have always done the same.
Interests
My world often works in cycles: steadily reading one book to the next and then watching movies instead for a while, lounging about eating not the best foods and then working out diligently and cooking healthy foods regularly, writing poetry/fiction/plays/essays then not. Same for things like camping, travel, going out to museums, dance nights,(far)left political events/rallies. Currently I am holding steady towards Massage Therapy and wellness as well as integrating my moderate sociology background/interests. Subversion grabs me, asking questions and deconstructing privileges, acting out of love and expression not societal convention or fear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
~Camping at a Utah hot springs under a star spattered sky while on a road trip from Chicago to Portland, OR. The site was lined with Greatful Dead painted school buses, laid back and friendly families who happily shared campfire stories with my partner and me and beautiful trails winding above the mountainside tubs.
~Driving in the middle of the night to help my friend move to Seattle, WA. As we approached a Montana mountain range the sky in front of us opened with blue-black clouds and cracking lightning. We were listening to epic, melodic metal heading into the storm as I drove and conducted the storm with my hands; we sung "makin' metal, makin' metal!" the entire time.
~I consistently am shown that "we are all in this together" by both small and large forms of community. Pretty amazing.
