I am a 21 year old backpacker from London, UK! I have been solo travelling SE Asia for 3.5 months and I'm now settled in Penang Island for the near future at least. I take pride in spending my time with local folks which enables me to live a more authentic experience in any one place, in my travelling opinion. I am seeking to stay with Penang locals for the next week or two before I begin a volunteer exchange in Georgetown. I spent some time with a local family in Sri Lanka; staying with them in the jungle and visiting their favourite waterfalls in the wilderness. Again in Sri Lanka I was staying in the mountains of Ella which was truly spectacular.
