Overview
About Me
Hello everyone, my name is Tanaka Ai, and I'm Japanese. I'm a rather quiet person, and I enjoy reading and hiking.
I travel at a leisurely pace. I usually head out early in the morning to visit museums or go hiking, and I come back quite late at night. I'll try to speak softly so as not to disturb your rest. If you also prefer quiet, we can each do our own thing; if you're more talkative, I'm happy to be a good listener.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, travel is more than just seeing scenery; it's about meeting different people and understanding different lifestyles. While hotels or hostels are convenient, they rarely offer the opportunity to truly immerse oneself in the lives of locals. I hope to meet like-minded friends through Couchsurfing and feel the real pulse of a city through conversation. If you'd like, we can cook together, drink tea, and share our stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read a lot of literature and philosophy; Calvino and Borges are among my favorites. When I travel, I like to bring a slim book of poetry so I can flip through a few pages anytime.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last winter, I found a stray cat on the street. It was skin and bones, shivering in the cold wind. I hesitated for a moment, but still took it home. My place wasn't big then, and keeping a pet wasn't very convenient, but I still gave it a bath, fed it, and took it to the vet the next day. Later, I found it a reliable adoptive family, and now it's gained weight and is doing very well. Although it was just a small thing, every time I see the photos the adopter sends me, I feel that picking it up that day was the right thing to do.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a ton of travel stories to share, and I'll also bring some local snacks from my hometown. If you'd like, we can have tea and chat together, or we can just relax and enjoy each other's company—whatever makes you comfortable is best.
