About Me

CURRENT MISSION

my mission is to see the world, travel and gain some amazing memories, meet some new friends and experience new places.

ABOUT ME

Oli: I'm 23 from a small town in Wales. I'm a very open guy and love to talk, well about pretty much everything. I love meeting new people and societies and having new experiences. i studied bioforensics in Coventry Uni, living the student life then came to work for an outdoor activity centre in swindon working with kids and looking after them. Im a very open person and love trying new things, iv wanted to travel for years but never tried till now. Aimee and I want to see the world and get out there. Im a bit of a joker and like to see the best in things and people, I love hearing stories and want to have some of my own to tell one day.

Aimee: Im 22 and have lived in the same town ALL my life! The same house, same bedroom, same everything! I have been wanting to go travelling for as long as i can remember but was never brave enough (and my mother forbid it) to go on my own. I would to love learn about other cultures and ways of life and cannot wait to experience them first hand!
Working with people from all different countries has made my desire to visit these far away and beautiful places even stronger! I hope couch surfing can help :-)
I like to meet new people and think the world needs to live, laugh and love more.

PHILOSOPHY

Oli : I love life, simple as that. Life is an experience that should be used to be happy and help others be happy. Theres alot of things wrong with the world, always will be but its what you do with your life and wether you can look back on your memories with pride that counts. If i look back on mine one day and think that iv had a good life and i have helped others feel the same then ill be glad to have lived how i lived. I have a very old sense of values, manners and respect for people is what counts to me. Its why i love working with children so much, it brings me alot of joy being able to help and guide young people.

Aimee: I live my life because im fortunate to have the oppertunity to do so in a happy, priviliged enviroment! The world had far too much capacity for causing pain and hurt without adding your own to the mix. Smiles and laughter cost nothing, they are priceless and most definatley contagious. So smile and be nice, karma will reward you..... eventually.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are currently just getting started on CS and hope to participate as much as we can! Hopefully with more experience and new friends we can participate more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We havnt been couch surfing before but have friends who have and love to hear about their experiences and hopefully have some of our own soon. Oli has moved around alot in britain and has been all over, staying with friends and enjoying each different experience. Unfortunatly this is the extent of our experiences!

Interests

Oli: I love movies and stories, especially greek myths and Odesyues is my favourite charactor to relate to, its one of the reasons i want to travel so that i can have my own tales to tell one day. I love seeing how the world works in all its different ways and is one of the reasons i studied biology. I enjoy new experiences and hearing new stories. Ummm not really much to add, i love a good party and enjoying life.

Aimee: Being around like minded people and socialising in all different atmospheres and enviroments is what i enjoy most. I love to read - my favourite books are real stories of peoples lives, trials and hardships, if a book has me crying by the end its normally a winner.
Like most 22 year old i enjoy a good party, music and dancing..... even if my taste and dance moves are something to be questioned. Im from a big family and love my friends so anything that includes either is a definate interest of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

Aimee: love all vampire stories and films (especially twilight). Books are definately best though.
Jodi Picoult and Manda Sue Heller are 2 of the authors whos book ive read lots off.
Music wise i like all sorts. From The Clash to Take That to Lady GaGa, if its got a beat to dance to ill like it! I grew up round festivals and in campsites so a personal favorite is when the random guy with his guitar teams up with anyone else who brought and instrument - from harmonicas to drums and they play together!
When it comes to movies im rubbish with scary stuff and worse with the gory stuff. Chick flicks or gangster film are my favourite genres.

Oli: Im a bit of a geek when it comes to movies, sci-fi and fantasy genres are my type. but im also a massive comedy fan. Little known films or big films doesnt matter to me aslong as the stories good. Raised on star wars I immediatly loved sci fi, warrior, sort of films, Sin city, 300, battle royal, akira. Im not a fan of scary horror films but zombie films always entertain me. I enjoy anime mainstream like one peice and naruto and some rom coms like wimbledon. B ut comedy wise i like anything.
Music is an incredible thing and my apreciation of it means that im an any sort kinda guy, i was predomantly rock and punk growing up but branched out into lots of genres, stuff with a story behind the lyrics or something you know matterd to the artist. foo fighters and blink were great to grow up with and alot of UB40 thanks to my aunty. If that fails something with a good beat cant go amiss. Books are very important to me, i love to read and i love the knovels about greek and roman times. especially regarding the fall of troy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Aimee:
Thats a hard one. Doing my first bunjee jump was pretty awesome but i think teaching underprivilged children how to ride a bike was my most amazing and proudest moment!
Oli: Whitnessing lighting striking the sea 20 meteres away from me while i sat on a beach with friends at 4 am was an incredible experience. Ski diving was a favourite of mine also.

Teach, Learn, Share

Aimee;
when it comes to children and how to relate, entertain and communicate with them its probably one of my best skills. From working with children of all ages andabilities and having 6 nieces and nephew of my own its definately something i have become good at! Songs, dances and games that even manages to keep us grown ups entertained too, all of which im more than happy to share.
Oli: I like to share what i know about biology and the world, not just from what i studied but what i learn as i go along. I love sharing experiences and choices made. I can teach first aid basics and bits and pieces of biology.
