About Me
ABOUT ME
i have been traveling and just generally moving around a lot for much of my life. i love to study culture and social constructs and i spend a fair amount of time ranting about sustainability. other than that, i play music, spend a lot of time with friends, and hang out with my dog. yup, that sums it up.
PHILOSOPHY
"if we do not find anything very interesting; at least we shall find something new." - voltaire
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i figured that i had crashed on enough couches in my day that it would probably be only right to offer up mine to the poor and weary traveller sometime. i like meeting new people anyway.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
well, i just met a couple people from switzerland through a friend who hosts and the lot of us went out all night and had a blast.. soooo.. it has been a good second hand experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
i listen to all sorts of music. really, a little bit of everything. rosa rosa rosa est est, as they say. favorite authors.. hmm.. kurt vonnegut, tom robbins, mikhail bulgakov, christopher moore, hermann hesse, terry pratchett, roald dahl.. movies - there's a lot. i like movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
well - camping out on an abandoned island off the coast of ireland was pretty incredible. so were my hikes through the rainforest and watching the earth move as stars creeped over the mountains at night there. cliff diving in costa rica and in greece.. getting sloshed with old fiddle players in ireland, climbing the "mountains" on the isle of skye.. it's hard to pick one. it really is. i've seen some wild things here in the u.s. as well. i think the rainforest wins though.. or the cloud forests of palmichal.
Teach, Learn, Share
sustainability, divergent thinking, guitar, general experience from traveling through some of europe, central america, and a large chunk of the united states. it boils down to this - i have had a fairly strange life so far. therefore, i have experienced a lot of different aspects of life and social/cultural interactions, it is probably observing patterns and behaviors that i am best with. i also spent nine years cooking professionally and i spent about four years as a photojournalist and landscape/travel photographer
