About Me

Hi couchsurfers!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in meeting people from around the world. Let's connect! Become friends and perhaps enjoy mutual couchsurfing travel opportunities.
-------------------------
Home Hosting Details:

***Please note: I am in FORT LAUDERDALE....not Miami. I have no idea why I get so many requests from surfers visiting the Miami area.***

I am in a resort-style community with all the amenities! Right in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Pool, hot tub, gym, the works! Super nice, super clean, lots of fun, and close to everything! Pics are posted under FLL Amenities and FLL Couch.

When home hosting: I will be opening up my home on select days that I will be in town. This is typically several days in a row, but it will be random as my work schedule is inconsistent. I may be able to host additional days, but that will be subject to a potentially changing travel schedule. Feel free to ask about particular dates via message and I will let you know the probability of accommodation. Dates that show me available to host are dates that I know I will be off and home in Fort Lauderdale. I try to keep the dates available up to date, but sometimes forget to update. I only know about one month in advance as my monthly traveling schedule is set through a bid process one month at a time.

-- Surfers, please be courteous in your commitments in couching as I am in mine to host. It is rude to plan a visit only to change your mind at the last minute. It's inconsiderate to the host as well as other surfers who may want the space. I have limited dates when I can host due to a job that has me traveling frequently and with a schedule that is typically inflexible once set. I understand emergencies happen, we all do. However, what I see is a growing trend of surfers just making other plans as it suits them. --

In an effort to thin out CS'rs that aren't interested in compatibility and are just looking for a free place to stay...there is one particular photo under FLL Couch Photos that is unique and is the only reference to one of my peculiar traits. Tell me what that photo is or the caption of the photo.

Home Hosting Dates:

(Check Calendar. Not always up to date but I try)

I can sometimes accommodate a last-minute request. Feel free to ask.

House Rules:
No smoking of any kind. If someone is a very light smoker I do have a balcony. I just don't want any smoking smell lingering at all. Zero.

I do not permit my guests to be in my home unattended. I will only host on days/nights that I am free and clear from traveling and I will be here. I will be committing my time to be an involved host for my guest(s). I will be happy to share the area and city with you, and possibly social events if the timing works. But when I am going out, you will be as well.

-----------------------------------------------------

If I message you, then I am traveling to your area in the near future and I would love to meet, hang out and enrich my life by getting to know you. Your couch or mine :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One night I had this really messed up trip. It ended in Fort Myers, but then I still had to get home to Fort Lauderdale. So my company gets me a car service to go across the state.

Although I was displeased with the delay and the hassle it turned out to be one of the best ground transport experiences I've ever had. The driver was great and we talked the whole way across Florida. He was even nice enough to drop me off at the employee lot.

And then something amazing happened on my drive home. I was on a very busy highway and saw a bad accident in front of me.

A guy was in the left lane ahead of me a ways, small black car, he was hit from behind buy a truck which put him into the wall, he spun out back across the whole highway and ended up in the right lane pointed backwards with no lights and a smashed front end. At night and just beyond a small hill.

He was ok, but he flipped out, young kid, was hopping around and shot up full adrenaline...had no idea he was sitting there with 80mph traffic coming at him that had no way to see him.

I pulled my car up to where he stopped and put the flashers on and pumped the brakes so we could be seen. I stayed on him and blocked traffic or he would have been run over for sure.

I was there for 10min. A few times I thought we were gonna both get plowed, but at least I had air bags and he was ahead of me.

I wouldn't have been at that exact place and time unless all of that happened exactly as it did.

Things happen and people come into your life for a reason.
