CURRENT MISSION

A cross country road trip! Me and two of my good friends, Matt and Suzanne, are taking a road trip from Harrisonburg Virginia all the way to Fairbanks Alaska and we need a couple of couches to crash on along the way!

ABOUT ME

Me (Aislynn)- 24 year old gypsy. I was born and raised in Fairbanks Alaska where i lived until I was 19. Since then I have lived in Washington, Nevada, Georgia, Virginia and Costa Rica. i love traveling and adventure! I am a nanny predominately been a nanny for the past four years, but have also had many random barista/food service industry jobs along the way.

Suzanne-24 year old gypsy. Born and raised in Fairbanks Alaska and has since lived in Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and Virginia. She has traveled to Africa, Europe and Central America, sometimes working as a volunteer. Suzanne is graduating from nursing school this April and is ready to be done! Her and her husband Matthew are moving to California so we figured we might as well road trip for a bit before we all have to go back to "realities of the real world (work)"

Matt- 26 year old gypsy. Born and raised in the Philippines, moved to the United States to further his education. He lived in Hawaii for many years but attended school on the East Coast where he graduated with a business degree, which he has manly used to teach middle and high school students. He met and married the beautiful Suzanne a year ago in Hawaii.

PHILOSOPHY

I can say that we are all very friendly happy easygoing people who believe in having a good time, respecting other people and the earth and just living life to the fullest. Kindness is something that is not lacking here. (Plus we all believe in Karma, so we try and behave accordingly..)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are all moving to the West Coast and appreciate any couches that we can stay on! As we are in travel right now, we are not able to offer any couches but, once settled we plan on returning the favor!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None of us have ever done real "couchsurfing" but we have stayed at many hostels and on lots of floors! :) We all looooove travel and new experiences. We are all very laid back and easy to please so any couch, hammock, hard wood floor, tent WHATEVER is good with us!

Interests

Me-travel! Anything and everything art related, especially photography movies and music. I am a very social person and pretty much have to do something outside the house with friends daily or i get stir crazy. i love to go out and dance, and listen to live music. I am usually found at coffee shops,live shows, book stores, hole in the wall bars or near some sort of water (lake tahoe, chena river, pacific ocean...wherever i can!)

Zan-really loves to do anything outdoors...she can surf, lay in the sun, kayak. rock climb, go river rafting...as long as she is active and outdoors she is happy! Zan has done a lot of traveling but i think her favorite place on earth is Hawaii.

Matt- i have never met anyone who LOVES the ocean like Matt. If he could have it his way, I think he would live in a tent on the beach and spend 90% of his time in the water. Like me and Zan matt loves to travel and experience new cultures and people.

Basically we are interested in anything and everything! Cooking, hiking, movies, camping, underwater basket weaving, WHATEVER it is we want to be a part of it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to oldies and indie rock mostly. Matt and Zan tend to like mellower music like reggae, jack johnson type of stuff. As far as movies we love it all! I don't think Zan handles scary movies all that well, but i love em. The worst the better (sleep away camp anyone?) We all read recreationally. Currently I am reading Douglas Adams 'The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy' and Suzanne is reading 'A soldier of The Great War' by Mark Helprin. Not sure what Matt is reading...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think for all of us it would just be all the amazing things, and people we have met and seen along our journeys. Life IS amazing.

I love to bake! I would love showing someone how to make (honestly) the best homemade sugar cookies! Matt and Zan would love to teach surf lessons.
