About Me

21 year old from Salt Lake City wandering around to see what I can find. Currently in an Americorps NCCC program. Still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do afterwards.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to find people to meet in the places that I pass through. Locals can always suggest places and show you hidden gems better than the internet can.

Interests

Traveling - I'm especially fond of road trips.

Hiking- I grew up hiking in the mountains of Utah. I would like to maybe do the Appalachian Trail or something similar someday. Maybe I'll actually do it, or maybe I just like thinking about doing it.

Music- I played in a metal band in high school, been thinking of experimenting with other genres as far as performing wise. I'm pretty into most genres.

Animals- I can't remember a year of my life growing up when I wasn't surrounded by animals. I love dogs and ferrets the most, but I can get along with pretty much any animals and/or pets.

Reading- I probably spend a little too much time reading. Oh well.

Meeting people- I'm a huge extrovert, so I like to be around fresh new faces that I can embarrass myself in front of.

Experiencing new things- I'm trying to go through life taking advantage of any and all opportunities that come my way. I don't want to look back and see all the things I chose not to do and regret it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty open and am willing to try anything. Whether or not I'll like it i have no clue.

I enjoy a pretty wide range of music, I noticed that the older I get the more appreciative of all genres I become. Some favorites include: Bob Dylan, Blink-182, A Day to Remember, Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, and pretty much anything with a banjo in it.

Some of my favorite movies are Stand By Me, The Prestige, The Music Never Stopped, The Sandlot, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Interstellar, etc.

I never know how I'll feel about a book until I get at least half way through it. I usually enjoy books that make me go "Woah" at the end. Some favorites include: The Alchemist - Paulo Coehlo, Jonathan Livingston Seagull - Richard Bach, Tao Te Ching - Lao Tzu, Contact - Carl Sagan, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance - Robert Pirsig, and Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keyes

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best experience of my life so far was joining Americorps NCCC. It's a 10 month community service program. I've met so many people and have gotten to work in a variety of fields and locations including: A nature conservancy in Iowa, Blight Removal in Flint, MI, Working at a kid's camp in Minnesota, and working with Habitat for Humanity in the UP of Michigan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love all these things.

I'm an okay musician, I can play Drums, Guitar, Piano, Uke, Clarinet, Saxophone, and the didgeridoo at various levels of experience. I could try my best to teach someone a little bit.

I also love telling stories. If I can think of a relevant event that happened to me, I'll usually bring it up.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can probably give you slightly amusing stories and am willing to lend a helping hand for any situation.
