About Me
Hi, I'm Rizky! Originally from Medan, now based in Banda Aceh. I work full-time (9 to 5 on weekdays) and also run a nonprofit community focused on education and social empowerment for marginalized children.
I really enjoy meeting new people from different cultures, trying new things, and having meaningful conversations that go beyond small talk.
*Hosting males only (Sharia law). Open to hang out with all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing gives me the chance to explore places not just as a tourist, but like someone who actually lives there. I love the idea of learning directly from locals, about culture, daily life, and those little things you don’t find on Google.
I’m here to connect, share stories, learn something new, and meet people I probably wouldn't meet any other way. Let’s hang out, swap ideas, and learn from each other.
Interests
Books, Movies, Gym, and CAT!
Music, Movies, and Books
I love Coldplay, Shameless, and Atomic Habits.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first solo trip abroad was to three countries in two weeks, and I didn’t book any hotel at all! I used Couchsurfing the whole time and ended up meeting so many amazing people. It was such a meaningful, fun, and eye-opening experience. I’d definitely do it again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don’t have much to teach, but I’d love to share anything I can, especially about Indonesia and life in Aceh from a Gen Z local’s perspective. If you’re around on a weekend, I might be able to bring you along to a volunteering activity with my nonprofit community, it’s a great way to meet people and see another side of the city. I also know some chill local hangout spots, food places, or hidden gems that don’t show up on Google or even Tiktok.
More than anything, I’m always excited to hear other people’s stories, about your life, your travels, the weird thing that happened on your last trip, your culture, your dreams. Whether I’m a guest or a host, I love conversations that go beyond “where are you from?” and actually connect.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m a respectful and easygoing guest, I always try to adapt to the host’s house rules and lifestyle. I don’t need much, and I always clean up after myself.
If you’re up for it, I’d love to share stories about Indonesia (especially Aceh), my experience running a youth community, or just talk about random things over food or tea. I enjoy connecting through honest conversations.
Sometimes I bring a small gift or local snack from Aceh, just a simple thank you for your kindness. And if there’s a chance, I’d be happy to help with small things like cooking or cleaning during my stay.
