About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To build friendships, relationships and connections with fellow Couch Surfers. By next summer, my best friend and I are planning on going cross country.
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in New Jersey. I attended Ithaca College for my undergraduate degree, which I can proudly call my second home. After graduation, I moved out to Brooklyn for a year and worked for a non-profit organization called City Year. I mentored and tutored at-risk students at an elementary school in East New York, Brooklyn. It was an incredible experience, which led me to pursuing a career in education. I currently work full-time as a teacher's aide for a kindergarten classroom and work part-time at a coffee shop.
I enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking and running. I have a keen interest in cooking and craft beers. I grew up watching the NY Giants, so I guess you can call me a lifetime fan. Music's pretty important too. I appreciate the whole listening experience, whether it's in concert, on vinyl or on my computer. I also play a variety of random instruments, such as guitar/bass/ukulele/piano (not well) for fun.
PHILOSOPHY
"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." -Dalai Lama
I believe in helping others without expecting anything in return. I'm also a strong believer in the concept of karma; do good in the world and good things will happen to you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm still new to this site, but I'm trying to find old friends via Facebook. When I move out of my parents' home, hopefully soon, I'll be SURE to host people. I'm also down to meet up for coffee and/or lunch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None, but hopefully that will change this summer.
Interests
My interests include outdoor activities (hiking, running), craft beers and bourbon, cooking, crate digging/vinyl collecting, and going to live shows.
