About Me

Life is not meant to be lived in one place.

Indian by birth. Traveler by upbringing (My parents were serial home-shifters).

I like spending time in the mountains. Some treks that I’ve done -

Tarsar Marsar Lake in Kashmir, India
Roopkund Lake in Uttarakhand, India
Everest Base Camp in Nepal
Dzukou Valley in Nagaland, India
Mt Fansipan in North Vietnam
Mt Rinjani in Lombok, Indonesia
MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that to have an enriching experience on my travels I need to live like the locals. I believe it’s important to get an insight into their lives. Humans connect when they see a little bit of themselves in other people. And what better way to do that than to couchsurf.

Interests

Trekking, travelling & meeting people with whom I can talk about anything but the ordinary. I love the outdoors. I’ve always enjoyed cardio but I’ve recently developed an interest in strength training.

Music, Movies, and Books

Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, Mark Moxon's Travel Writings, Interstellar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a night in a tent on a Himalayan slope with insane rain, wind and thunder. Spent most of the night holding down the edges from the inside, scared that the tent was going to fly away with me in it. Besides, I’ve trekked the 100km long MacLehose Trail solo and self supported with a 20kg backpack. A wild boar ran off with my backpack on the first day of the trek and I had to chase it down (I have it on video)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a good conversationalist and well versed in multiple topics. My knowledge on Indian culture and food has only grown with age. And although I try to extensively cover the places I visit, I enjoy sitting down and spending time with my hosts. If you give me prior notice, I’m willing to get whatever you might need from India.

Countries I’ve Visited

Armenia, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Georgia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
