About Me

Currently renovating my house so am unfortunately unable to host. I'm friendly, kind and respectful. My humour fits into that category of English dry self-deprecation. I like to talk to people and make new friends, and I'm a massive fan tea, all types of tea!

I've traveled a lot and always go light and try to embrace whatever culture I'm in. I love art, design and architecture which is just as well as it is part of my work as a mould maker. I'm really into discovering the local dishes of the places I'm visiting. I love a curry, love food, anything fresh.

I have a cat called Bob, he's a lovely cat although he likes to hunt. I guess that's cats, but Bob's pretty skilled.

Err.. as a motto or a quote or whatever, I like this one:

If you think you can't or if you think you can, you're right ;0)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've done a fair amount of traveling on my own and a friend said I should check out couchsurfing. Was a good move, met great people while traveling in Japan.
I really enjoy meeting other fellow travelers as it's often our interactions with the people we meet that have the greatest impact on us.

Interests

My interests include nature, philosophy, film, live music, music festivals, walking about in nature and stuff.

I live out in the sticks. It's very beautiful and have been inspired by my recent travels around Japan. I enjoy playing pool , badminton, swimming and saunas. I love saunas.

Currently getting into minimalism and renovating my house.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music tastes would be Eclectic, think 6 music/ Radio Paradise and your close.
Movies Anything by Wong Kai Wai , Independent and foreign films . Captain Fantastic, Lord of the Rings, Bron/Broen.
Books- currently reading A Path with Heart - Jack Kornfield, Tolkien, Lasson , Hafiz, Kelsang Gyasto, Terry Pratchett and various other stuff that my sieve-like mind can't recall, usually get a book off a friend and devour that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Developed moulding and unique casting techniques for a non-profit charity. Designed, had built and ran for a couple of years a state of the art Studio that reproduces Buddha statues for temples dedicated to world peace.

Can give you advice on how to make moulds and cast things ;0) yerrr unless you're a designer or a sculptor I'm not sure that's gonna come in handy...
