About Me

I graduated from CSU Monterey Bay in 2016 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. Since then I've been working for a nonprofit in California called the Farmworker Institute of Education and Leadership Development (FIELD) teaching English to adult immigrants.

I'm only 26 but I've done a few things. Over the years I've volunteered with the Red Cross in Spain and conducted ethnographic field research, I've helped build two homes in Mongolia, spent two weeks teaching English to children in an orphanage in Nepal, and I've played tourist in Mexico, Hong Kong, Switzerland, France, and a few other places. I've ridden elephants, gone skydiving and parasailing and ziplining, done archery, swam with dolphins, that sort of stuff. I'm adventurous and I can't wait to get out and explore more of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm richer in experience and good stories than I am in money ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music! I was raised with musicians and I came to appreciate lots of different genres.

My all-time favorite movie is The Godfather. Some of my other favorites are Fight Club, Pineapple Express, Pulp Fiction, The Shining, Donnie Darko, The Sixth Sense, Secret Window, The Silence of the Lambs, Superbad, and Baraka.

I love to read, and I'm especially nerdy about classic Russian Literature. My favorite author is Fyodor Dostoevsky and my favorite book is "Crime and Punishment". My second favorite book is "The Brothers Karamazov", which is also his. Some of my other (non-Russian) favorites are "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey, "1984" by George Orwell, "Girl, Interrupted" by Susanna Kaysen, "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and probably too many others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Honestly, I am incredibly grateful for anyone's hospitality and aside from the opportunity to learn from each other and maybe form a great friendship I'll also gladly help out around the house, go on errands, teach English if you want, and generally do anything I can to repay the kindness of allowing me to stay in your home.
