I'm Alasdair, a 39 year old male from Edinburgh, Scotland.

Having cycled it in 2022, I'm currently walking from Land's End to John O'Groats (April-July 2025) with my wee rescue dog Charlie (check out his Instagram in the links @charlies.log).

Back home in Edinburgh I own a vegan grocery store and a second hand bookshop.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people and travelling to new places. Couchsurfing is a great way to travel and really find out about the local area.

I can't host at the moment (I'm travelling) but I've hosted people in the past and definitely will again in the future.

Interests

I love hiking, ling distance cycling, wild camping and generally spending time outdoors. I used to do a lot of windsurfing but tend to be more land based these days.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all sorts of music but particularly folk and rock music.

Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, etc are all things that I've watched.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played with my local pipe band when I was a teenager in the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow! We didn't win but it was a great experience.
