Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to do a lot of travelling on my own to sell art at conventions and exhibitions, as well as travelling round new places to relax and paint, and I've had my fill of hotels where I don't get to speak to people much...now that I'm more settled I'd like to meet new people, relax in friendly company and share experiences! Always great to make new friends, cook together, chat about life, etc!

Interests

Other than making art, my interests are good conversations, cooking and baking, nature, swimming, history, travel, cycling, yoga, and starting to learn horse riding too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies.....I love classic horrors from the 1920s onwards, animated films (especially Studio Ghibli), some at and indie films, decent sci-fi - but will watch anything really, very few films have no redeeming features at all! Books....I do read a lot of fanfiction for art inspiration, but also history, mystery, folklore, paranormal accounts.
Music...80s music is my guilty pleasure, also love 50s ad 60s rock'n'roll, a bit of swing and 40s jazz to unwind with, some indy music, classical, chillhop, lofi....will listen to anything once, and always keen to be introduced to new bands and sounds!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived alone for a month in an empty ski resort up a mountain in the French Alps...three hour round trip down and back up the mountainside just to get groceries, took up yoga, and meditation, hiked a lot, and made a rudimentary sled to get down the mountain faster.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to do cooking, housework, etc, swap recipes (I make fabulous desserts!) always up for a chat about anything and everything, maybe teach you some art techniques or make you a piece of art, and show you around Flanders if you ever visit!
