ABOUT ME

I am kind hearted and courageous. I have a voracious appetite for life and positive living. I can be shy and cautious at times. I am very motherly due to my status as the first born. I am always driven to do better when I am corrected. I am very comfortable with who I am (for the most part) and I like to be in control, but I am willing to let go.

Interests

I am awed by things of beauty, whether they are in a museum or in nature. I love to meet new people in order to understand vast and eternal beauty that the world possesses. I LOVE to eat, cook, listen to loud music, laugh and many many other things. I do not drink much, but I am not opposed to drinking. I like to read, about everything. I am especially interested in food, food economics, social problems, and demographics. I am limited sometimes, and sometimes spend a day napping or "detoxing".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It is difficult to pick two or three moments that have left me "awestruck" because like I mentioned the beauty that surrounds me is infinite.

When I was in Japan, I was struck by how beautiful and selfless the people there were. I stayed with a host family for 12 days. While I was with them I became very ill. I remember I was laying on my bed and the grandmother (who spoke now English) got me out of bed and took me to the bath, a fresh bath. For those of you who don't know it is an honor in many house holds to have a fresh bath, not only a fresh one but to be the first to use it. She was very kind and helped me prepare for the bath with tea and warm towels. And when I was finished she made miso soup for me. This memory is very dear to me because it was my first trip from my home and the first time that I had ever had someone share something so simple but so wonderful.

I think that in my travels the most memorable moments are the ones that include others. (But don't get my wrong the Southern French country side, sunsets in Alaska, and the warmth of the Virgin Islands are pretty amazing as well).
